The Sanctions SOS Conference for 2025: “Sanctions and Export Controls” is a conference for the sanctions and export control community by the sanctions and export control community.
The conference will take place on 20-21 May 2025, hosted in our home city of Manchester.
Across the two days there will be eight panels focussing on a range of topics from Sanctions compliance best practice, to the intersections of trade sanctions and export controls. The panels will be made up of one chair and three other panellists bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge . We have designed the panels to be engaging for the audience and to maximise time for audience questions.
There will be two fireside chats across the conference, one with our own CEO and Founder Ian Bolton, and one with the government enforcement communities from a number of countries. These will be opportunities to hear from the individuals in regards to latest developments and trends. Members of our LinkedIn community will get to input into the questions to be asked, and there will be time for questions from the room.
On the first day there will be an immersive workshop where attendees will work in groups to tackle a fictious sanctions and export control issue. This workshop will involve complex themes, multiple jurisdictions and risks. There will be a number of artefacts for attendees to examine and analyse and they will be able to use software solutions from some of our sponsors to help crack the case.
The conference will be opened with a keynote address that will focus on some of the most important factors impacting the sanctions and export control environment. It will look a priorities within the UK and how this match-up with the UK's key partners.
Our speakers are drawn from across the globe bringing significant expertise and knowledge to the event across a range of topics. We are proud to be involving speakers from government, industry, academia and the NGO/think-tank sector.
