Sanctions SOS In-Person Immersive Training Programme

What is the In-Person training programme and why in-person?

Our In-Person Training programme, is a range of one day in-person training courses that are split into a taught morning session, followed by an interactive, developing scenario that attendees work through.


Currently we offer:

In 2025 we will be launching:

  • Trade Sanctions and Export Controls
  • Sanctions Investigations
  • Combating Sanctions Evasion and Circumvention


This training programme is delivered in-person as it makes the training more interactive and dynamic, whilst providing great networking opportunities. The courses represent an opportunity to share and exchange experiences and best practices.


Our In-Person Immersive training programme is aimed at anyone involved in the world of sanctions or wanting to learn more about sanctions. The courses are designed for attendees from all backgrounds, including governments, multilateral organisations, private sector and academia. 


The courses are routinely delivered in Manchester and London, but we are able to deliver this training in a range of UK and international locations additionally should there be demand.

Sanctions Compliance Training

Course Details

Our In-Person Sanctions Compliance Immersive Training course, was our first ever publicly offered training and has been well attended from day one and received excellent feedback ever since. 


The course focuses on providing a complete overview of sanctions work both from a government and private sector perspective. It is designed to help those doing the course know the basics of sanctions and sanctions compliance, whilst at the same time covering some of the more complex areas. 


Below you will find the syllabus. 


The training is delivered by one of our expert trainers, all of whom bring a wealth of Sanctions knowledge and understand. The course makes extensive use of interactive exercises throughout the day with purpose-built artefacts to support each exercise and give a realistic feel to them.


The course works through a number of key topics from concepts such as what sanctions are and how they are used to complex areas of sanctions implementation such as licencing and spotting potential sanctions evasion.


Across the day students will get involved in immersive exercises based in a fictitious country, examining sanctions policies, creating sanctions regimes, assessing licence criteria, identifying sanctions risks, and completing sanctions advisory work in relation to screening alerts.


This course is aimed at anyone involved in the world of sanctions or wanting to learn more about sanctions. The course is designed for attendees from all backgrounds, including governments, multilateral organisations, private sector and academia. 


This in-Person training course is routinely delivered in Manchester and London, but we are able to deliver this training in a range of UK and international locations additionally.

Counter-Proliferation and Sanctions Training

Course Details

The course examines the world of trade-based sanctions and export controls, providing attendees with learning and immersive exercises to work through. Trade-based sanctions are becoming It is designed to help those doing the course know the basics these topics as well as how to identify potential risks and both manage and mitigate these.

The course makes extensive use of interactive exercises throughout the day with purpose-built artefacts to support each exercise and give a realistic feel to them.


The course works through a number of key topics from concepts such as what is Counter-Proliferation and Proliferation Finance and how do these intersect with sanctions.
