Our In-Person Sanctions Compliance Immersive Training course, was our first ever publicly offered training and has been well attended from day one and received excellent feedback ever since. 

The course focuses on providing a complete overview of sanctions work both from a government and private sector perspective. It is designed to help those doing the course know the basics of sanctions and sanctions compliance, whilst at the same time covering some of the more complex areas. 

Below you will find the syllabus. 

The training is delivered by one of our expert trainers, all of whom bring a wealth of Sanctions knowledge and understand. The course makes extensive use of interactive exercises throughout the day with purpose-built artefacts to support each exercise and give a realistic feel to them.

The course works through a number of key topics from concepts such as what sanctions are and how they are used to complex areas of sanctions implementation such as licencing and spotting potential sanctions evasion.

Across the day students will get involved in immersive exercises based in a fictitious country, examining sanctions policies, creating sanctions regimes, assessing licence criteria, identifying sanctions risks, and completing sanctions advisory work in relation to screening alerts.

This course is aimed at anyone involved in the world of sanctions or wanting to learn more about sanctions. The course is designed for attendees from all backgrounds, including governments, multilateral organisations, private sector and academia.

Across the day students will get involved in immersive exercises based in a fictitious country, examining creating country-based proliferation risk-assessments, identifying proliferation and sanctions risks understanding the intersection of counter-proliferation work and sanctions, examining proliferation finance risks, and completing advisory work in relation to evasion practices and screening.

Our trade-based sanctions and export control immersive in-person course provide attendees with learning and immersive exercises throughout to enhance attendees understanding and skills.

The training is delivered by one of our expert trainers, all of whom bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding in Trade based Sanctions and Export Controls. The course makes extensive use of immersive exercises throughout the day with purpose-built artefacts to support each exercise and give a realistic feel to them.

Throughout the course attendees will work through a number of key topics from concepts such as what are trade based sanctions, what are export controls, and how to manage both. There will also be a look at how to identify goods accurately to establish controls, understanding specific export control regimes and key terms such as dual-use, pre-cursors and military-rated.

Across the day attendees will get involved in immersive exercises based in a fictitious country, examining identifying trade sanctions risks and understanding the intersection of export controls. Learning about high-risk sectors and activities such as oil and gas, CHPL, and the maritime sector. Attendees will look at completing risk identification, and investigation work, including building advisory cases. The course finishes with a look at common evasion practices, including the overlap with TBML.

This course is designed to help those doing the course know how to structure sanctions investigations and runs these, how to use relevant tools and OSINT to provide the answers needed to complete reporting. Our Sanctions Investigation and Combating Evasion immersive in-person course provides attendees with learning and immersive exercises throughout to enhance attendees understanding and skills.

The training is delivered by one of our expert trainers, all of whom bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding in Sanctions Investigations and Combatting Evasion. The course makes extensive use of immersive exercises throughout the day with purpose-built artefacts to support each exercise and give a realistic feel to them.

Throughout the course attendees will work through a number of key topics from concepts such as how sanctions investigations are structured, what is essential in terms of completing investigations, and how to complete internal and regulatory reporting. There will also be a focus on recognising and understanding sanctions evasion typologies, and what steps can be taken to counter these.

Across the day attendees will get involved in immersive exercises based in a fictitious country, identifying sanctions evasion risks and understanding the practicalities of completing sanctions investigations. Learning about investigative tools and practices, including how to carry out Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) gathering and utilising relevant tools. The course will also look at reporting requirements, how to complete both internal and regulatory reporting. The course will conclude with a look at the enforcement of sanctions and consider the potential risks.
